Reifen Müller focuses on quality and expands production capacity with shearography tire tester Intact 1200 from Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH
For more than 34 years, the renowned family enterprise Reifen Müller focuses on their product safety and quality. Especially in the company´s retreading facilities, the production process (certified according to ISO DIN 9002 and ECE 109) is organized by following the highest quality criteria. Uwe Müller, manager of the retreading plant in Hammelburg/Germany, especially emphasizes reliability and state-of-the-art technology as a part of the company´s success.
Since the beginning of 2000, Reifen Müller inspects the incoming carcasses with an Intact 1200 shearography tire test system by Steinbichler Optotechnik. Equipped with 3 measuring heads, this system represents the fastest and most economic shearography unit available on the market. Reifen Müller benefits from both technical and financial advantages – thus, the high production quality could be further increased.
The system has proven its performance during the long-time operation and features an exceptionally high operational capacity and reliability. For system adaptations (e.g., to new tire dimensions), Reifen Müller has been continually supported by the competent staff from Steinbichler Optotechnik – this also contributed to Uwe Müller´s decision to purchase a further Intact 1200 system for the planned expansion of production capacities in February 2007.
As a pioneer and market leader in optical inspection technologies, Steinbichler Optotechnik soon recognized the need for efficient testing systems in the retreading industry. The patented multi-measuring head technology has also proven its functionality at numerous tire manufacturering companies. The current Intact series feature extremely short test cycles – 30 tires can be inspected from bead to bead within 60 minutes! A further enhancement to double the operational capacity is already in development. Steinbichler Optotechnik also demonstrate their competence in shearography technology for the retreading of aircraft and OTR tires, and in the fields of tire development.
