The optical sensor that makes invisible defects visible: High-resolution surface inspection with ABIS II allows the swift and secure detection of all relevant types of defect down to a minimum depth of only 10 µm. Depending on the system variant, the test sequence can be performed with various degrees of user intervention - from manual, interactive operation through to a fully automatic inline system. It offers a vast variety of specific configuration options for objective 100 % inspection. The classification criteria and threshold values for a subsequent automatic evaluation of the defects are tailored to the customer´s specifications, but can be flexibly adapted to the relevant production stage at any time (floating audit).
The high measuring and data-processing speed of the ABIS II system also makes it optimally suited for inline use in serial production or for end-of-line tests in the press shop. The roof of a car, for example, is fully recorded with 35 images in a matter of only 12 seconds and can then be evaluated. A further advantage is the robust design of the high-precision sensor. This ensures the secure acquisition of the measured data not only under the typical acceleration stress of robot applications but also under production-related ambient conditions (vibration, shop floor lighting, temperature, oil film, etc.).
