For the investigation of transient and dynamic events on excited objects under operational conditions, Steinbichler Optotechnik has developed the PulsESPI system. It combines the advantages of both the conventional pulsed holography, and the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry.
The PulsESPI camera is suited for double-pulse as well as for triple-pulse recordings. A specially designed triggersystem controls the PulsESPI camera and the ruby laser for object illumination. Due to the short recording time (few nanoseconds), the PulsESPI is insensitive to disruptive factors like low-frequent vibrations of buildings or thermal schlieren.
The reference beam is guided to the measuring head by an optical fiber. Thus, the measuring system is very flexible and can easily be adapted to the application´s requirements. Due to the high pulse energy, the object illumination is currently done conventionally by mirror systems.
Even parts with distinct characteristics as well as high fringe densities can be evaluated reliably. In the automotive industry, the PulsESPI system has proven its functionality for the investigation of brakes and car bodies at many times.
PulsESPI features:
